Who we are

HiScan was born out of a very specific and very real pain: finding yourself in a room with people from 20 different countries and not knowing if the person approaching is expecting a handshake, a hug, a kiss, two kisses, three kisses — or just a polite nod from a reasonable distance.

We've created an AI-powered app that scans or searches for a person and tells you in seconds their preferred greeting style, based on their cultural background, personal profile, and actual preferences. Because no one should find themselves bumping into a stranger to say hello.

Founded in Brussels — the unofficial capital of "wait, how many kisses do we give here?" — HiScan's mission is to make international interactions more fluid, more respectful, and much less physically uncomfortable.

  We don't stereotype — we ask. Our AI is trained to grasp the nuances, because being Italian does not automatically mean wanting three kisses.

  We solve an absurd problem with real technology, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Good atmosphere, zero cringe, no forced hello.

  We know that "scanning people" sounds suspicious. That's why everything is opt-in, profiles are controlled by users, and we never sell your greeting preferences to advertisers.
