Who we are

XplainAway was founded after our CEO spent 47 minutes in a meeting having his own research explained to him by a colleague who had just read the summary.

We are a Brussels-based biotech startup that is developing the first clinically validated pharmacological treatment against mansplaining. Our flagship product — the XplainAway pill — temporarily inhibits the neural pathway responsible for the urge to explain things in a condescending way to people who already know them better than you do.

XplainAway is not a preventive measure. It is a precision tool, administered only after a certified diagnosis. Our proprietary MCI (Mansplaining Confidence Index) score ensures rigorous targeting: we don't treat men who are simply enthusiastic, poorly socialized, or just a little annoying. We treat the mansplainers.

The XplainAway Protocol

Step 1 — Observation. An XplainAway certified Diagnostician observes behavior in the natural environment (open space, dinner, conference, Zoom call).

Step 2 — Scoring. Subject is assessed on the MCI (Mansplaining Confidence Index), a proprietary 12-point scale measuring condescension, the expertise gap, and the density of unsolicited advice.

Step 3 — Diagnosis. A score of 7/12 or higher triggers a formal diagnosis. The Diagnostician issues a treatment certificate.

Step 4 — Administration. An XplainAway pill, dissolved in any hot beverage. Tasteless. Odorless. Effective in 3 minutes.

Step 5 — Outcome. The subject feels a sudden and irresistible urge to listen. Side effects can include nodding, sincere questions, and the phrase "oh well, I hadn't looked at it that way."
